About the Author: Audrey Parente has been a journalist for 25 years. She has written more than 10,000 newspaper and magazine articles published across the country. She authored two non-fiction biographies of authors from the era of the early 20th century pulp magazines. She also authored a volume of short spooky stories nominated for best collection by Horror Writers of America, along side a collection by Stephen King.

She has performed her entertaining horror poetry at theaters and schools, and her poems have appeared in publications in the U.S., Canada, England and Japan. A staff writer for The Daytona Beach News-Journal in Florida, she writes features for all sections of the newspaper, from human interest stories about the world's seventh oldest woman, to in depth investigative pieces like a package studying prison ministry.  She’s won the Sunshine State Award and the Florida Society of Newspaper Editors Award for Investigative Reporting.
